A writer speaks about DRM and Copyright

Most of us DRM-savvy folks have understood the problems with the draconian DRM schemes proposed or implemented by the RIAA, MPAA and their industry companions. Many have taken to expanding the acronym more accurately as Digital Restrictions Management That’s exactly the purpose of current DRM: to place and manage restrictions on digital content.

The BBC has an excellent article by an author (or “content-producer” to use the industry jargon) about the problems with DRM today. The wonderful thing about this article is that it’s targeted to the common consumer, not necessarily the legal- or technically-savvy.
