Robotic leg-chair instead of a wheel-chair

Check out the photo, then read all about it.

It’s sort of a wheelchair, but has most of the advantages of bipedal motion: like the ability to use stairs instead of lifts, elevators, and ramps. Neat stuff, I always like to see med tech advancing to better the quality of life for people with disabilities.

Article: Art and Craft and the Waters of Life

An exposition titled Art and Craft and the Waters of Life explores the differences between Art and Craft, and ties their union not only to great work, but to spirituality (in terms of magic).

An excellent read.

Picasa produces “Hello” photo-sharing site

17 April, 2006 (13:52) | Random Thoughts | By: radiantmatrix

Perhaps because of the popularity of sites like Flickr, Picasa (owned by Google) has created the hello file-sharing system.

Hello doesn’t appear to be a direct competitor to other photo-sharing sites, but rather a replacement for e-mail and traditional IM networks for the niche market of sharing photos with particular individuals (as opposed to the public at large). Because of Picasa’s relationship to Google, hello is integrated with Blogger in addition to the Picasa photo software, making Picasa an excellent choice for bloggers using Google’s service.

Unfortunately, this is only available to Windows users for the time being; that’s all well and good, but the maintainers of hello’s website would do well to make that fact more clear before one signs up for an account.

Is your project only pretending to be Agile?

InformIT has a pretty good (and reasonably short) article on a common pitfall of the Agile programming method, called Pretending to Be Agile.

Ever been on a project claiming to follow a given methodology, but not really doing it? This article is most definitely for you!
